Sponsor Spotlight – Blue Ridge, Cindy Mellinger

We extend our deep gratitude to our long-time community partners, Blue Ridge Communications, and to Cindy Mellinger, who recently retired after 40 years as the company’s Marketing and Communications Coordinator. Over the years, Cindy has been a dedicated volunteer, providing invaluable support to the Foundation.

Cindy reflects on her deep connection with Blue Ridge:
“Blue Ridge has an unwavering commitment to our community, and their values align perfectly with my own,” she shared. “They’ve always felt like family to me.”

Cindy’s story is one of strength and resilience. In 1994, she was diagnosed with leukemia. She sought treatment at Johns Hopkins, where she received top-tier care and successfully overcame the disease. However, in 2000, her leukemia returned, and this time, she needed a bone marrow transplant. Her sister, a perfect match, became her lifesaver. Cindy’s recovery was made possible not only by her sister’s donation but also by the unwavering support from her Blue Ridge family during her most challenging times.

Since her recovery, Cindy has dedicated herself to making a positive impact, and she has worked tirelessly with Blue Ridge to support the Foundation in numerous ways. The company provides vital resources, including commercials, on-air programming, event calendars, Weather Crawl updates, and local billboards.

Cindy adds, “We value our relationship with the school district and wholeheartedly support the mission of the Warwick Education Foundation. I’ve always been proud to work for a company where excellence and community engagement go hand in hand.”

Thank you, Cindy and Blue Ridge, for your years of support. We wish Cindy all the best in her next chapter!
