Empowering Educators, Enriching Classrooms: How Jonathan Olshan Inspires Innovation at Warwick
September 10, 2025Big Ideas, Bright Futures: Kicking Off a New School Year in Warwick
The start of a new school year brings excitement, fresh energy, and endless possibilities. At Warwick, that possibility comes alive in the classrooms—where dedicated teachers dream big, and the community helps turn those dreams into reality.
Every Warwick Education Foundation grant begins with an idea from an educator who wants to spark curiosity, build confidence, and prepare students for the future. With donor support, those ideas transform into hands-on, life-changing experiences.
Melissa Reifsnyder, elementary art teacher, explained how the Expert in Residence grant, which brought internationally known artist Richard Hight to Lititz Elementary, made an impact on her students: “We have continuous discussions about letting perfection go and embracing what students might view as mistakes or ‘bad’ artwork. Mr. Hight’s presentation helped students see their style as a strength, especially when it looks different from everyone else’s.”
Megan MacNair, occupational therapist, highlighted the confidence that grew from the “Fine Motor and Hand Strength” grant: “As students work with the tools and build their skills, they gain self-confidence and independence—key ingredients for overall development and academic success.”
The focus on innovation also shapes career readiness. Technology Education teacher Kevin Krause shared, “Technology is closely linked to creativity. It fuels innovation and helps build problem-solving skills. The automation and robotics world has a great impact on future careers.”
These opportunities are possible when educators have the tools and resources to bring their ideas to life. Warwick Education Foundation founder Dr. John Bonfield once said: “It’s our job to provide teachers with the right tools to do their job, then stand back and let them work their magic.”
As students return to their classrooms this fall, we celebrate the teachers who imagine what’s possible—and the donors who make it happen. Together, we’re not just welcoming a new school year. We’re welcoming even more creativity, confidence, and community-driven learning that helps Warwick students dream even bigger.
