Volunteer Spotlight: Alex Garrett – A Champion for Education

This month, we extend our deepest gratitude to Alex Garrett, a dedicated board member and passionate advocate for education. Along with his wife, Meg, Alex owns Owl Hill Learning Center in Lancaster, a highly respected and award-winning childcare center and preschool. Like the Warwick Education Foundation, Owl Hill is committed to creating enriching learning experiences that inspire young minds and open doors to brighter futures.

For Alex, this mission is deeply personal. “Being in education, you see firsthand what the right equipment and resources can do to change a kid’s education.”

That belief is what drives his deep involvement with the Foundation. From serving on the Fundraising Strategic Team to helping organize the Education Rocks Gala and now stepping into a Board Member role, Alex is committed to making a lasting impact.

“Any kind of investment we make is casting a wide net,” he explains, knowing that every contribution creates opportunities for students across the district.

A Lititz native, Alex’s roots in the Warwick School District run deep. It’s where he played in the band, performed on stage, competed as an athlete, and—most importantly—met Meg. Now, as a father of three, his connection to the district is stronger than ever. He’s determined to ensure every child has the resources and encouragement to reach their full potential.

“I hope we can give all kids the opportunity to explore different paths—because there’s something for everyone.”

Thank you, Alex, for your dedication and vision. With passionate volunteers like you, we are turning that hope into reality—one child at a time!
